Today I’m going to show you how to Create Your Own Personal AI Sales Coach that actually works in 3 simple steps:
Tired of uploading PDFs every single time you need feedback on a cold email?
Sick of hitting your chat limit in ChatGPT and starting conversations from scratch?
Frustrated with losing track of deals, contacts, and essential context?
You're not alone but there's an easy fix!
Step 1: Set Up a ChatGPT Project Folder
Project folders let ChatGPT manage complex conversations using custom context windows.
Here's how:
First you Upload all your sales resources (PDFs, Excel, CSV, transcripts, etc.)
And then every new chat automatically references all your materials so no re-uploading required and all your chats are self contained under the project so you don't have to go endlessly scrolling your past conversations like before.
Step 2: Define Your Sales Framework (e.g., MEDDIC)
For this guide, we'll use MEDDIC (Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Implicate Pain, Champion) but you can use any framework you use from SPIN, Challenger, GAP etc
Collect sales materials around your chosen framework:
Books, internal playbooks, successful cold emails, call transcripts, templates etc just upload anything useful.
For simplicity in this example I'm just going to use a single PDF.
Step 3: Creating a Custom AI Assistant Prompt
Here's where the magic happens:
Download your chosen PDFs/docs.
Upload it to your ChatGPT Project Folder.
Prompt ChatGPT with:
"Help me create a prompt based on my uploaded material. Act as my sales assistant and provide feedback on questions, cold emails, or scripts. Improve them using the sales framework provided and what you know about my product from past chats and uploaded materials. If unclear about my product, ask me for more context (URLs or extra details). Once clear, create a master prompt."
hit send and then clarify to make sure it understands what you're selling by asking ChatGPT:
"What product do I sell?"
Provide additional context if needed.
*make sure it understands exactly what you're selling since you're gonna use this a lot and you want it to be accurate. This process may take a couple back-and-forth. But trust me it's worth it.*
Generate the master prompt:
"Now tie it all together and create a master prompt/ instructions for all future conversations."
Copy and paste this master prompt into ChatGPT’s “Add instructions” section.
Step 4: Tailor and Optimize
Now you're done! But you can make it better by customizing the instructions for any specific feedback or formats you want.
- Want specific critiques? Ask explicitly.
- Struggle in certain areas? Make sure you get in depth feedback for them.
- Need your tone replicated precisely? Request it clearly.
- Require detailed improvement suggestions? Clarify this upfront.
With AI, the more precise you are with your instructions the higher quality end result you'll get.
